A Secret Garden 2023
A secret garden in my mind. Colors in bloom. Butterflies and birds flutter around. New life appears. Sit quietly and you will hear the colors of a garden speak. Color speaks a unique language. There is a lot of psychology within color. It can evoke memories, emotions or feelings, and even judgments. Color is a language everyone can understand, yet different for each person. This is my exploration of the sound of color. Each piece tells me it’s own story of what it wants to be. With each piece I engaged in a conversation with the colors and the canvas; an expression of memories, feelings, plus a dream or two. Sometimes with intent, often with intuition. A silent conversation full of sound in my secret garden.
Figuratively Speaking 2022
I have lived and worked all around the world. I have seen the most beautiful people full of love, strength, kindness, and compassion. I have also seen people in war-torn countries overwhelmed, in despair, and hurting. This collection, “Figuratively Speaking,” is an ode to the people I have met, seen, heard, and even the unseen and unheard that crossed my path. It is a collection of thoughts, feelings, and memories in paint with no intention other than to capture that fleeting thought, an unexpected emotion, and an undefinable urge to create. Some of the figures speaking loudly, some speak softly, but they all have something to say. What conversation will they have with you?
Reflections 2021
Reflections is a small series of five (5) pieces of original art. To reflect “suggests an unhurried consideration of something recalled to the mind.” Merriam-Webster Thesaurus. The Reflections gallery has links to available pieces of art work.
Grounded by Nature 2020
Grounded by Nature is an abstract landscape series created during the Covid-19 lockdowns. The inspiration is from my land and the beautiful Texas Hill Country. The Grounded by Nature gallery has links to available pieces of art work.
Waves of Change 2019
Waves of Change was inspired by my love of the ocean. I used cacti spine from my land to create a world of waves, sea fauna, and flora. The majority of the pieces in this series have sold. The Waves of Change gallery displays sold pieces that can be used as inspiration for a commission, like “Barrel” pictured above, in a similar style. The limited number of pieces that remain available are noted in the gallery. Click on the image for more information or view them here.
